Home of the African Elephant
Nestled in the southern region of Kenya near the Tanzanian border, Amboseli National Park is a celebrated wildlife conservation area renowned for its dramatic scenery and incredible biodiversity. Towering majestically in the background is Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak, which forms the park’s iconic backdrop—especially striking during sunrise and sunset.
Amboseli is home to four of Africa’s Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard—as well as a diverse population of wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, and over 400 species of birds. The park’s permanent swamps and wetlands, fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro’s glaciers, attract wildlife year-round, offering consistent and remarkable game-viewing opportunities.
Why Visit Amboseli?
Amboseli is world-famous for offering some of the best up-close encounters with free-roaming African elephants, many with impressively long tusks. With over 50 elephant families known to inhabit the park, it is a dream destination for wildlife photographers, researchers, and safari lovers alike.
In addition to wildlife, Amboseli offers a window into the authentic Maasai culture. Visitors have the opportunity to engage with local communities and experience their traditions, making every safari both enriching and unforgettable.
