2-Day Lake Nakuru & Lake Naivasha Safari

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel. Drive through Kenya’s scenic highlands with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can enjoy panoramic views and photograph the majestic escarpments, including Mount Longonot.

Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. After settling in, depart for an afternoon game drive across this picturesque park, which features forested ridges, open grasslands, and acacia woodland.

Lake Nakuru is a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos, the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, lions, leopards, and a large number of flamingos and other water birds. Be on the lookout for lions lounging in trees and massive herds of buffalo grazing by the lake shore.

Return to camp for dinner and a relaxing evening under the stars.

Begin your day with an early morning game drive to catch the park’s wildlife at its most active. After breakfast, check out and depart for Lake Naivasha, a serene freshwater lake in the Rift Valley that’s home to a variety of wildlife including hippos, giraffes, wildebeest, and over 400 bird species.

On arrival, opt for a peaceful boat ride (optional) to explore the lake and spot hippos up-close, as well as fish eagles, cormorants, and kingfishers. Continue with a nature walk (optional) on Crescent Island, where you can walk among freely roaming herbivores like zebra and giraffes.

After lunch at a local lodge or restaurant, and depending on time, you may opt to visit Hell’s Gate National Park (optional) for cycling or hiking among dramatic cliffs and geothermal features while spotting wildlife along the way.

By late afternoon, begin your journey back to Nairobi, arriving in the evening. You’ll be dropped off at the airport or your preferred location, marking the end of your safari.
