About the Reserve
Named after the perennial Tarangire River that winds through its heart, this remarkable park is home to the densest elephant population in northern Tanzania and is distinguished by its ancient baobab trees, some of which are estimated to be over a thousand years old. The seasonal water source draws enormous concentrations of wildlife during the dry months, making game drives here among the most rewarding in the region.
