About the Reserve

The Serengeti is one of the oldest and most ecologically important ecosystems on earth, covering nearly 15,000 square kilometres of open savannah, acacia woodland, and granite kopje formations. It supports the greatest terrestrial wildlife spectacle on the planet: the annual circular migration of approximately 1.5 million wildebeest and several hundred thousand zebra and Thomson gazelle. The central Seronera Valley is the epicentre of predator activity and remains productive year-round.
