About the Reserve

Uganda's smallest savannah national park is distinguished by its intimate, accessible character and the unusual diversity of species it harbours. Lake Mburo is the only park in Uganda where zebra are found, and its open acacia and mixed woodland savannah is excellent for viewing impala, topi, reedbuck, oribi, and eland. The lake and its five satellite water bodies support substantial hippopotamus populations and provide exceptional birding in the papyrus swamps.
