About the Reserve
Budongo Forest Reserve is an important tropical forest ecosystem near Murchison Falls National Park and is one of Uganda’s leading chimpanzee habitats. The forest is known for primate research, conservation work, and guided chimpanzee tracking experiences through mature mahogany and ironwood forest. It adds a rich rainforest dimension to northern Uganda itineraries and works especially well for guests who want to combine Murchison Falls wildlife viewing with primate encounters before continuing toward western Uganda.
