About the Reserve
Fort Portal is a scenic town in western Uganda, set near the Rwenzori Mountains and surrounded by tea plantations, crater lakes, and fertile countryside. It is commonly used as a comfortable gateway between Kibale Forest National Park, Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, and Queen Elizabeth National Park. The town gives travellers a relaxed stop in the western highlands and helps break long safari routes with attractive landscapes and cultural encounters.
