Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Following a hearty morning meal, check out from your hotel and set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, famously known as the Medley of Wonders. Your guide will meet you and lead the journey through Uganda’s scenic countryside, where you will pass lush plantations, rolling landscapes, and enjoy occasional sightings of birds and wildlife along the way. A memorable stop will be made at the Equator for photographs and a brief experience at this iconic landmark. Lunch will be enjoyed either at the Equator area or in Mbarara, depending on your schedule. The journey then continues into the park, where you will arrive in the afternoon and check in at your lodge. Later in the day, head out for an evening game drive across the savannah, offering excellent opportunities to observe elephants, Uganda kobs, hippos, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, and other wildlife in their natural environment. After the safari experience, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness, including sights such as hippopotamuses relaxing and taking mud baths in nearby water bodies.
Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
Later in the morning, following a wholesome breakfast at the lodge, you will set out for an exciting chimpanzee tracking experience in Kyambura Gorge. As you hike through the lush forested ravine, expert guides will lead you in search of one of our closest living relatives, the chimpanzees. This remarkable encounter offers a chance to observe their intelligence, social behavior, and playful interactions in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, the natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. This scenic journey provides excellent opportunities to view hippos, crocodiles, elephants along the shoreline, and an impressive variety of bird species, making it one of the most rewarding wildlife experiences in the region. After the boat safari, return to Buffalo Safari Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay just outside Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will begin your morning with a delightful breakfast before heading out for an exciting game drive as you continue your exploration. The route takes you through the Ishasha Sector, an area well known for its rare tree climbing lions, and with some luck you may spot them resting in the branches of fig trees. Along the way, you will also encounter other wildlife such as elephants, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species moving across the open plains. After the game drive, you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and journey toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive is scenic and rewarding, passing through rolling hills, rural villages, and beautiful countryside landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at Rushaga Gorilla Camp and take time to relax as you prepare for the next day’s adventure. Dinner and overnight will be at Rushaga Gorilla Camp, a comfortable base for exploring this remarkable region.
Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi and Batwa Cultural Experience
You will begin the day with an early breakfast before proceeding to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers ahead of your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Accompanied by experienced trackers, you will venture deep into the dense rainforest, navigating steep slopes and thick vegetation in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may be demanding, but the experience is deeply rewarding as you eventually encounter these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. Once located, you will spend up to one hour observing their behavior, interactions, and family dynamics, an unforgettable moment that offers a rare glimpse into their world. After the trek, you will visit the Batwa community, where you will learn about the rich cultural heritage of this indigenous forest people who once lived within Bwindi. Through storytelling and demonstrations, you will gain insight into their traditions, survival skills, and deep connection to the forest. Later in the evening, return to Rushaga Gorilla Camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of Bwindi.
Transfer to Kampala
After breakfast at your lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will begin your scenic journey back to Kampala. The drive takes you through the rolling green hills of southwestern Uganda, offering beautiful countryside views with opportunities for short breaks along the way to stretch and appreciate the landscape. A stop will be made in Mbarara, where you will enjoy a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant featuring traditional Ugandan cuisine. After lunch, the journey continues with additional stops as needed to rest and take in the scenery. As you approach Kampala, you will be dropped off at either Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight or at your preferred hotel within the city. This marks the conclusion of your safari in Uganda, leaving you with unforgettable memories of breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife encounters, and meaningful cultural experiences.
