Day 1
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala in the morning and begin a scenic road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, featuring rolling hills, rural communities, and lush green landscapes, offering excellent photo opportunities along the way. A stop will be made en route for lunch, giving you time to relax and refresh before continuing your journey toward the forested highlands of southwestern Uganda.
Arrival in Bwindi is expected in the evening, where you will check in at your lodge and settle into a peaceful environment surrounded by pristine rainforest. Dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay in preparation for the next day’s adventure. Day 2
Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi and Batwa Cultural Experience
Following an early morning meal, you will proceed to the Bwindi park headquarters for a comprehensive briefing on gorilla tracking. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will set off into the dense rainforest in search of one of Bwindi’s habituated mountain gorilla families. The trek may last between two and seven hours depending on the location of the gorillas, and involves navigating steep, thick forest terrain. The effort is richly rewarded with the extraordinary opportunity to spend one hour in the presence of these magnificent creatures, observing their behavior, interactions, and family dynamics in their natural habitat. This encounter is widely regarded as one of the most profound and unforgettable wildlife experiences in Africa.
In the afternoon, after returning from the forest and taking time to rest, you will take part in the Batwa Cultural Experience.
